Be carefull here

When we was driving around today in the later afternoon it suddenly made bang and our reartire was flat 100 meter further. In the fraction of a second a "helpfull" guy appeared out of nowhere on a motorbike and offered us to drive us to the market, while we could leave the motorbike at the Independence beach-sure my friend, because we where born 20 minutes ago we leave our allmost new motorbike in middle of nowhere to hang around at the market. The flat tire repairs itself meanwhile!

Instead i left the family where we had been in the shade and went by myself in direction to the main street, sitting allmost on the frontwheel.Allmost at the Ekkharechstreet there was a family on the left, who repaired motorbikes.I went there, said susaday and got back a friendly, understanding smile.
While waiting i got passed a Coke from the lady there.
I did not only left the camera at home, but also the cellphone,no connection to the family-shit happens.:)
While i was watching the mechanic i also talked to a young cambodian, who also mentioned that the Coke+repair would be 6000 riel-oh no 6000! riel-this is 1.50 US$.I said no problem and pulled out the money, just to discover that i had only 5300+50US$.I promised to change the money and return afterwards to pay the rest.
After the bike was repaired i went to pick up the family. We drove right to the Samudera supermarket, changed the 50 bucks and went back to the garage. When we stopped the family was quite surprised about the 1 dollar we gave them.

Typical Cambodian friendlyness and honesty can be found here side by side with the one guy(or girl),who tries to ripp you off.It works here as everywhere in the world and some common sense helps to get through the day.:)
