Some most recent handwriting of our home-schooled eleven year old boy:
The self chosen topic was this time the capitol of Russia. He asked me a lot of questions about the city, so we went on Wikipedia and Danny wrote six pages about Moscow, he translated it afterwards verbally into German. The translation took him about one and a half hours, by the way.
So far the news about our home schooling progress with Danny.:)

Danny's gestrige Englisch Arbeit
Hier mal wieder was neues von unserem heimgeschulten Viertklaessler Danny:

Update:

Danny's first English dictate
After three months of daily language study Danny had to prevail in his first English dictate. He had chosen the topic monster trucks a few days ago and wrote the first two clauses of the Wiki page. Today he was asked to write the first clause I dictated him. The result:
He had four clerical mistakes on the page but is likely still far ahead compared to an average third grader in his native country. While I was at school English courses started from the fifth grade anyway.
After lunch (Chicken curry with tasty GMO-free Cambodian rice) we're about to continue with philosophy, particularly some more quotations and it's suitable for child's explanations of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.

Danny while playing Mahjong this afternoon
Right now we're at Soriya's restaurant. Danny was playing with Tee on the netbook while I took some pics with the webcam:
Danny is doing very fine here, likes it a lot in Cambodia. Our Danny is growing fast and reaches his mom to her shoulder in the age of nine.:)

EU: Noch duemmer geht immer !
Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten

Danny's first self made advertisement
After our son watched a Youtube video about how to make a flyer with Photoshop he was asked to use a picture and to include information and price for selling a product of his choice using Photoshop, it took him around 20 minutes to create this advertisement with some help:
He enjoyed that a lot, by the way.:)

Danny's Unterricht ueber Mind Control
More info about how mind control works in English:

Danny's English Course
The most recent English work of Danny:
He writes text on topics he can choose by himself and gets help to translate it afterwards into German. Any difficulties he encounters will be written subsequently in his vocabulary book. These unknown words are used by him to form new sentences which are supposed to contain at least one new word each in different tenses. The learning curve and progress of learning according to this method is very effective in my observation.
When I got "recruited" years ago in a Thai guesthouse to work as teacher I had no clue how to teach a foreign language since I never learned how to teach in the first place. During this time I developed this kind of teaching and was flabbergasted how effective it worked. A principal of a secondary school near Phetchaburi even demanded to hold German courses as well.:)
I enjoyed working as a teacher a lot back then and would take the opportunity any day to start again if I would get the chance here in town. I am about to ask in schools after the approaching holidays for a job, at least for a couple of hours a day.:)
I am by the way well aware that my teaching will be never 100% free of mistakes because I am not a native English speaker, but then would be a lot archived if the students would reach at least my level.:)
Therefore if you find mistakes in my text you can keep them, laugh about it or even try to write a blog in German as a foreign language. Then I would have something to laugh about as well.:)

A dictate about mechatronics for Danny
Once a while something about our home schooling progress with Danny.
He asked me this morning while having breakfast with a Swedish expat and his family about what a mechatronic is doing. We went to the Wiki page and he did read the most important part twice before we started.Danny did write this unedited text in 17 minutes:
We are quite happy about his progress despite the few mistakes in this demanding text.:)

Fresenius Medical Care sold for 49,82€
First trade of the day,0,3% earned in around 20 minutes.:)
I'll stick to FMC for a little while, they broke the down-trend intra-day.Was working the trade as often just on the little netbook.
Danny was watching the whole trade and even offered a well placed sell opinion at the right time.
Can tell you guys one thing:We got the hang out of it.:)

How to raise a son?
Well, I never had a dad in that sense.
The most important thing in my life and also the best ever happen to me is my son.Guess only very dedicated parents can understand what that means to have a child you love more than yourself, you would do anything for.
We did bring here to raise him in modesty, culture and freedom. As a plant grown on good soil of parents who are all the time there for him over all philosophy plays a very important role in our way to teach him what is necessary and will enable him later for anything he desires to become.Daniel is a very curious kid who is having a lot of questions. We reply to every single one in detail and are often surfing the net for the most detailed answer.Sometimes we are sitting in the bed together and are reading philosophy like the once about the for him so fascinating Samurai. We was reading things like this for instance:

Danny turned very disciplined and concious by such guidance a long time ago and his speed of reading or his skilled handwriting is each time impressive to me.He is often leaving me flabbergasted how fast he did this or that.
We started for instance a while ago with daily half a page dictate.
Danny is at first writing the words as he think it's correct. The edit of misspelling follows afterwards. Each error gets written in a separate book and after all repeated twice in the correct manner. His progress is very impressive and his dedication is gaining him so much confidence. In fact he seeks the challenge to archive the confirmation of his abilities he is well aware of.In my opinion the way it should be.
But there would be so much more to tell.:)

Hydraulic systems for Danny
Danny asked me recently where all the power comes from a crane is using, just one many questions our kid is asking daily.
We went on the Youtube side to seek for a easy understandable illustration of a hydraulic system:

Hydraulische Hebebuehne
Daniel watched the video twice and was asked to explain us how the whole systems operates to ensure that he apprehended the lesson of technical operating modes.:)
Using the internet for education is like living in a huge library instead of placing a curious by nature kid in front of a TV.If you want smart kids throw the TV out first.:)
