The best navi-app for android

If you seek an app with offline navigation for Cambodia don't look any further than to the Sygic app from TomTom. It works offline contrary to Google Maps, but drains the battery I need to admid. The app comes with an integrated dashcam and many other features. A great app!!!

The Epic Browser

While surfing the internet you make a lot of people rich by selling the tracking results of your surfing to the common suspects like Facebook, Google etc. While using the awesome (Open Source!!!) Epic Browser you'll likely notice the incredible speed in which the browser is getting you to your destinations. While all advertisements and trackers are blocked you see the blocking in real-time and be likely pretty stunned sooner or later when realizing how they track you like a toy-robot and recording everything you do.At this point while writing the posting in the Epic browser it blocked already 96!!! tracking attempts!

The arrow marks the Proxi on and off switch, just perfect.:)
After finishing this tread the tracker counter is up to 279!!! trackers blocked, thanks to the developer team, its our new default browser.:)

Download the Epic Browser here.:)

How to encrypt your E-mail.
Finally:
Thunderbird client + enigmail addon + WinPt = 100% confidential email exchange, but never write your private post in the browser, at best directly on the cliboard instead to enhance safety. This combination is very simple to use, guess I maybe could teach it even to a monkey.:-)
The simplest solution works the following:
After downloading and installation go to WinPT in your system tray, click to "edit clipboard" and write or copy your text right there. Then click "PGP" on top and "encrypt" it with the public key of the recipient you've imported in your key manager in advance. Copy the encrypted text into your common email provider's compose section and send it,done. this way you never write text into the browser where it could be detected and recorded. The encrypted files or messages could also been send by Skype or even better "Torchat" once you exchanged each others Tor-chat-user-id by encrypted email.
To open the message the recipient copies the encrypted text into his clipboard and follows the decrypt procedure, done. Of course the public keys need to be exchanged via email before (I just posted mine on the website) in order to to use each others public key to encrypt the massages. Long story short: It doesn't even need an email client to do the job quick and convenient.

Update:
"Yes, we scan"! We've to read your emails, you could be a criminal, child abuser or a "Terrorist"!!!:

The better Firefox browser

This morning I discussed browsers with a buddy from Australia and thought I just share my opinion about the enhanced version of Mozilla's Firefox 22 by Comodo.

A screenshot of the "IceDragon":

The AddOn's I installed at the next picture:

The browser is much faster than the 21 and definitely worth a try. Some guys like the Chrome better, maybe the Chrome based version, the Comodo Dragon could be their browser of choice.:)

Data recovery using TestDisk

Maybe you know the moment when you connect your external hard drive to the computer and it is not recognized. Instead of the assigned name the drive was just recognized as local disk and unexessable. When clicking on it the computer demanded formatting the HDD before it can be used, great!
While searching the internet for a solution I stumbled over TestDisk and learned via the website from scratch how to recover the 400 GB on files which took around 15 hours.

A screenshot of the first window of the recovery software:

The programm worked flawless and all data was without a loss in quality copied to another hardrive by TestDisk.
A big, fat thanks to the developer.:)

The Comodo Dragon browser

A enhanced version of Google's Chrome is since a little while our most used browser.

If you want to give it a try, here's the download Link.
While the installation the Dragon browser can be also installed as a portable app. and be runned from a USB-stick or just a browser who is requiring less system resorces than the installed one(We prefer portable software if possible).

Your computer is getting slower and slower?

While maintaining our computers like every weekend I thought I just publish my actions against the problem in it's logical order:
First I open the CC-cleaner (Download here)and run it:

At next I click on "Registry" and repeat the 2 step process:

Now I am done with the cleaner. At next I open the Win 7 defragmentation program and run it over every partition on the computers:

If You are running still Win XP I had the best experiences with Disc Defrag (Download here) for that matter.:)
Try the Defraggler for Win Vista.

That was it and the computer stays as fast as you are used to.:)

You're welcome.:)

Not only that we're having a contrary opinion about friendship than it's practised at the Facebook website. This questionable service is also a enemy of the personal privacy,a spy tool!

Stock-shock

As predicted the markets are continuing their drop this week after a very weak Friday.
Since the electricity if off again we switched to Danny's netbook to keep an eye on the markets and you well informed.:)The little Acer went to a very useful tool for us all and we take it way more often with us than it's big 14" brother. The little thing is containing a high capacity six cell battery, good for 5-7 hours internet surfing, another huge advantage.

When the Wall Street opened hours later the market just crashed before the bell-holly s...!

How to stop Facebook tracking you

When surfing with Firefox it's possible to prevent Facebook after the log-in tracking your further trip through the internet after leaving their page by this recommended Add-on:
Since Facebook is known to be a very curious "data vacuum cleaner" and who knows where all this collected infos are ending up it just makes sense to cut the connection after beeing done on their webside.
The "Like it" button is installing by the way a cookie which enables Facebook to make the user in fact vitreous and to record every move in the WWW done by this computer.
