Maybe you know the moment when you connect your external hard drive to the computer and it is not recognized. Instead of the assigned name the drive was just recognized as local disk and unexessable. When clicking on it the computer demanded formatting the HDD before it can be used, great!
While searching the internet for a solution I stumbled over TestDisk and learned via the website from scratch how to recover the 400 GB on files which took around 15 hours.

The programm worked flawless and all data was without a loss in quality copied to another hardrive by TestDisk.
