www.unterstufe.ch

The link was suggested from Kasperle in a privious to Danny related posting.
Thank you very much again.:)
Plenty of brainfood can be downloaded and teached from this webside.
By the way,Swiss kids have a high education level in international comparance(Pisa Studie).

Natural science today

After maths Daniel learned about the following sea creatures:
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walhai (Whaleshark)
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mantarochen (Mantaray)
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blaupunktrochen (Bluedot Stingray

These stingrays get sold at the market like fresh sliced bread, maybe nice to know some more about them.:)

Depressed?

According to this article depressions are becoming just in a few years the most diagnosed sickness in industry nations.
I guess i don't want to live in a industry nation anymore and stay undepressed in the 3.rd world instead.:)

Today's statistic

Welcome dear readers, enjoy your time at Sascha's blog.:)

The BMW today

Today is a classic "Bull trap" day for BMW,as you can see in this chart:

For 51 and benith they'll be mine again for a little while.:)

A carcrash next door

The domestic wife of my neighbour drove his car against the gate and accused Michaela for a up the pole reason afterwards."We are responsible to close our gate at any time, that she can open her one properly."Our gate was allmost closed and i just would check in advance,if my sister who opened the gate before did it properly....
She is definitaly not the sharpest knife in the kitchen, nor are her manners in any measure adequate, she confirmed that that a few times allready.:)

Danny in the subject computer

After the maths for today i showed Danny how to encrypt USB-Sticks.
It's not demanding at all,but to explain him how it works and what it's good for made him asking to do the process.:)
1.st.
Backup all content.
2nd.:
Install the tool on the stick, choose password, enable encryption.
3rd.
Add the privious content from the backup folder.
4th.
Secure the propper function.

"Life is lerning.":)

Systemcrash yesterday

A power outage yesterday made my day.
When we returned from breakfast the PC was off and stayed that way.
While booting i got showed a registry error and the system restarted again. All options in the bootmenue failed to start the system.
I installed XP on another partition and used it to repair the failed partition. That was a lot of work in advance, just to get the idea what's to do next, but avoided at the end fortunately reinstallation of the main operating system.:)
The "repair" XP got thrown out afterwards by formating it's partition.

The Windows integrated feature i used to repair the main os with the as secondly installed XP:

Accessible by right click on the problem partition-Properties-Extras-Check now(Jetzt prüfen). After clicking on "Check now" in a additional dialog can be adjusted to repair the failed partition in the same time. That's what i did and what rescued at the end our installed operating system.:)
Seen afterwards:
The better choice would have been to repair the OS just with the Windows OS disk...
I had only the English version of XP Pro+SP3 burned on disk and thought that might not work with the installed one in German.
Yesterday i learned that any language version of a Windows operating system can be transfered to any language via 8MB kit straight from Microsoft and free to download.

The Cambodian wing

While checking wings for the coming season i just thought this could be the right design for the 'Kingdom of Wonder':

That is the canopy of a 'performance intermediate',the Ozone RushIII,a allmost beginner adequate wing with simple take-off behavior, long steering distances and relaxed reactions while colapses.
The Addict in comparance was a lot more demanding, but of course also better in performance & agility, just a higher classified 'Sportclass' wing in comparance to a 'Intermediate'.

The Ozone RushIII in detail:
http://www.flyozone.com/paragliders/en/products/gliders/rush-3/info/

Transcend external HDD 25D2 500GB.

We added a second external HDD to our computer configuration.
The other external we are using as file storage is also a 500GB.,a Maxtor/Seagate 3.5 HDD.
The Maxtor is a lot bigger and i guess more than a pound heavy, requires additional power supply, but is reliable and of good quality.
We'll replace the 500GB.Maxtor in a year through a external 2TB anyway.:)

The little Transcend is just very handy to take to friends and share software, music and so on beside its backup purpose.:)

The HDD in detail:
http://uk.transcend-info.com/products/ModDetail.asp?ModNo=278&LangNo=0&Func1No=&Func2No=
There are slimer once available, but this was the only model we got here in Sihanouk Ville without running in every computershop in advance.:)
The little HDD works fine. The copy speed for movies is with "FastCopy" up to 26 MB/sec as happening right now while i'm writing this.

The price was comparable to offerings in the internet and with 79$ absolute fair.
P.s.:
A "Formatter" is included in the software bundle, which i used of course before i stored anything on the HDD.

Our "broken" printer

While printing the note for my Canadian neighbor before the printer just tied-up.
What do to with this 'broken' printer?
My first choice was:
I pulled the electric cable straight on the printer, pressed at least 10 sec. the power button, plugged in the cable again and printed just as usual the document.:)

It was just a common problem, also mentioned in a privious posting about notebooks.:)

TrueCript

Just a quick windshild note i wrote for a neighbor:)
Dear XXX,
A useful suggestion regarding your computer safety:
The free software "TrueCript" enables you to encrypt particular files and even your whole computer quiet easily.
If just the Windows partition is encrypted your notebook is only bootable by inserting your selected password anymore.
Vista and Win7 offers a similar feature as far as I know but this would be a adequate solution I can recommend just in case you haven’t heard about it before.
If you are interested in such a feature:
http://www.truecrypt.org/downloads
Also anytime via USB-stick at my place.:)
Kind regards
Sascha

I 'll start flying again

I intent to get myself a harness, rescue and a nice solo wing over here for next fly season after monsun(guess December).
I saw the cloudbase today at 600-1000 meter ,adequate for some nice soaring, acro flying and spirals(i love to fly spirals). The wind was quite strong,so it needs to be a fast wing again,at least a DHV 2,like my last Ozone Addict-a good wing indeed.
Guess i dump the tandem idea and get some quality solo air time again.:)
In Austria i had 2 harnesses,a very light Supair hiker harness and a Advance Impress,a closed one(looks like the guy is flying in his sleeping bag)for cross country(haven't made it that far).
In the Sihanouk Ville area to fly would be cool for certain in like today's conditions.:)
100's of used wings are offered in the internet and i would just have to make it clear with the seller to send it to our post adress in Sihanouk Ville, visible left hand side.
I sold my Addict to a pilot from Hungary,so sending them all over the world is no problem.
I also could buy the new Addict follower in Thailand, from a guy i flyed quite a time together.
This would be the solo wing,if i would get the new one:
http://www.flyozone.com/paragliders/en/products/gliders/octane-flx/info/

Quiet roads around Sihanouk Ville

This road leads to Otres beach and is the only connection from town for cars or Tuk Tuks. The motorbikes can use a shortcut along the coast, but a steep and bit dangerous hill need to be mastered,if you want to take this mentioned shortcut.
A pic of this hill will follow soon.:)

EU-Diesel price'll be raised by 0.30 ct.

The EU commision intents to raise from 2013 on the tax on Diesel fuel to 75ct. per liter,of course plus VAT.

For non German speakers i suggest to use for instance"Google Interpreter",if you're interested to read that.

Firefox 4.0-How to use incompatible Addon's

Quite a few Addons of Firefox 3.6 aren't supposed to work with the 4.0 version.
It's possible to influence that and make them working in the most recent version as well.
This could lead to problems, just in case click on "Help, restart browser without Addon's",if you run into trouble while using them anyway.
The adjustment procedure to use incompatible Addon's for the version 4.0:
Insert in the adress bar:
about:config
Click with the right mousekey in the window and select in the context menue:
"New,Boolean"
Insert at Property names:
extensions.checkCompatibility.4.0
In the following dialog:
false
After restarting Firefox the compatibility doesn't get checked anymore and you can try to use Addon's of privious versions under Firefox 4.0.:)

Some fighting infront of our house

A few minutes ago two Cambodians had oviously a dispute with each other. That ended up in a fight as Michaela said. The result:A bleeding eye of one of the opponents and some broken pride-ouch!
They should tell that next time in advance then i'll place a bet and have the camera ready to give my readers a impression of domestic unarmed close quarter fighting skills.:)

P.s.:
Check out "Bokator" on Youtube,a ancient very effective martial art of the Khmer.Of this style the famous Thai boxing got probably derivated from.

Tschernobyl's sarkophag isn't withstanding for much longer !

Get a grip before reading that:

The whole article:
http://www.n-tv.de/politik/Ex-Direktor-von-Tschernobyl-warnt-article3057661.html

The wife of a good friend of me in Austria, such a nice christian lady got personally badly effected by the Tschernobyl disaster and is suffering since.
So we saw in personal what that means!

Euro and Oil chart again

Once the direction is clear allmost nothing can stopp a strong trend:

The gain over night of the oil price is even more impressive, haven't seen that since a while:

The rising liabilities of Germany

It's common in this country to live of the money of following generations and just pass the bills further to the children, while the state is doing it's best to throw for the official paradise and immigrated freeloaders as much money out of the window as possible.
But for all this depts interest have to be paid, and these interests will increase again since the EZB decided to rise the rates,as aspected for today.
That means in fact that the state is paying right now every 8.th incoming Euro on interest, the federation(Bund)even every 5.th Euro.

The responsibles-corrupt and unable polititians are just creating more debts to pay the interests. That's is very smart, because the following generations are of course looking foward to pay the waste of the privious ones, like us for instance.:)
The liabilities of today are certainly the taxes of tomorrow, but why thinking to much about the future?
In this child unfriendly methusalem country, where the everage age is 44 years they have not much to loose, because for many the box will close itself anyway pretty soon for good.

I only can recomment for the younger to leave this ripp off artist country and make a living elsewhere, where your money end up in your pocket.

Euro & Oil charts today

The €uro is continuing his rise against the Dollar:

The oilprice is also gaining,no end benith 150$ visible in any time frame chart:

While we lived in Germany and Austria the oilprice never effected us,because we only tanked up for 20 € anyway.:) (Some gallows humor for breakfast.)

Firefox 5-beta version in six weeks

The release of the beta version is predicted for mai 17th.The final version is promised by the developers for june 21st.
The new Fox'll be able to change it's design to the webside the browser is showing in terms of appearance and functions. The new one will be also more adjusted to the simple usage of social networks like Facebook or Twitter:

The "Prospector" feature will complete inserted urls in correlation to priviously visited websides and allready displaying while the user is inserting the url.

Virus protection for Android,Ifone,Symbian and BlackBerry

Hacker attacks are on the rise, also the smartfones are vulnerable to treats.
Keep the following in mind to protect your smartfone:
1.:
Never open links in SMS or MMS.If it's urgently necessary, check them for their authenticity, for instance through calling the sender.
2.:
Avoid online banking over your smartfone and use the PC/Notebook instead with installed adequate protection.
3.:
Check your bill conscientiously for irregularities,as high data traffic or massive SMS movement.
4.:
Check every App. you intent to install in detail for user opinions, check the webside of the developer and read the manual in advance.

Adequate protection is offered for instance by Kaspersky mobile security for Android,Blackberry,Symbian and Windows mobile. The software provides encrypting datas, establishing blacklists and is scanning in the background for dangerous network connections.KMS is also establishing a firewall.
The security software is offered for a free 30 day trial.

Jailbroken ifones are open to viruses too, because the jailbrake is also erasing all security installations.
If you're activating a SSH-connection make sure to change the root password before, which is by factory"alpine"-hackers know this of course as well.:)
It's considered fishy,if a game is requesting adresses or GPS datas.

For Symbians is for free MobiShield available. This App is blocking incoming Bluetooth or internet connections. The App is also preventing the unintended sending of SMS or MMS.

Stay safe.:)

Wisdoms of the day

Some more wisdoms for my low educated friend "Anonymus",who is affronting me since today again.:)

"The amount of our enviers is confirming our abilities."
Oskar Wilde
Irish dramatist & author

"To live is very infrequent in the world. Most humans are only existing."
Oskar Wilde

"If i would have no enemies and enviers i would be probably iniquitous."
Armin Müller Stahl
German actor

The Euro is taking off

Once a barrier is broken all the futures-and options traders are jumping in,then the quote is just skyrocking.
For us here it's getting even cheaper day by day,but it'll weaken Europes export sector as much as they are dependent to US imports of European goods.

The foreign trade balance 2011 between USA and Europe(Source:Financial Times):

the f.t.b. deficit is ovious and in comparable numbers existing since a long time. The USA is by 20% importing more goods from the EU than exporting.
But for how long anymore when the € is continuing his advancement?

Danny the biker

Infront of our house before we went to Otres beach.

The family at Otres beach

I'm not as pretty as my both, that's why i'm behind the camera.:)

Facebook is the worst virus spreader

It isn't only the huge number but also the quality of attacks which is dramatically increasing since a year. The hackers are targeting companies as well as social networks.
Very common is to use faked abbreviated urls or place phishing-or spysoftware in inoffensive appearing applets.

Symantec, producer of Norton Antivirus software is publishing once a year a safety report, which displays research about webactivities and safety status, investigated by millions of internet sensors.

I can't recommend to enter Facebook without adequate security software. The highest detection-and deleting level of all offered security suits has still Norton Internet Security-my suggestion to protect your computer.

I suggest to read my article about "Sandboxie" in this context as well.

Danny's first multiplications

The software is so versatile, just perfect for homeshooling.

The Nikkei 225 is struggling again today

As you can see the tighter composed Japanese Topix is even more declining:

I guess this will have an effect to the European markets,i aspect them opening in the minus,we will see.

Addon's are slowing down the browser launch

As more Addons are installed as longer it takes the browser to "wake up".
The worst delaying Addon's:

We deinstalled a few again and keeped only a few personas in the collection.
Particular the Forecastfox made sometimes trouble and tangibly slowed down the launch.

Cambodian culture

When we drove by the Total gas station this afternoon we saw right there a cultural performance. Some of the dancers, while others performed a aesthetic Cambodian dance:

Herons and buffalos

Another perspective of the Ochheuteal beach

The pic was taken from a pier. The light wasn't perfect today for this photography, but i hope you like it anyway.:)

Today's grammar for Danny

"G or K" was the task for today.Danny did 20 in half an hour. The tasks are a bit to demanding for a first grader, but with some suggestions solvable for Danny.

The fastest browser-test update

Since the final release of the Firefox 4.0 is out,Firefox is back on top in the speed hit list again and only slighly slower as the Internet Explorer 9,which isn't operating under Windows XP anymore.

Don't miss the beaches

Shareholder value in Germany more important than public safety

The energy supplier RWE intents to relaunch the oldest reactor in Germany again to defend their law position. They still have the right do do so,because the nuclear plant was in accordance to the law when it was builded 40 years ago!
Germany is mentioned in the Guiness book of records for the country with the highest amount on laws, prohibitions and regulations. As you can see all these laws are nothing worth when it comes to money. This nuclear plant makes a million a day in netto profits, that's all what matters, not the public safety!

A day later:
The Ministerpresident of Baden-Wüttemberg Oettinger is making up his mind how a coming disaster could be covered by insurance!

"The most decomposed states are having the highest amount of laws."
Tacitus
Roman history writer
50 b.C.

The oilprice is rising further

Aspect faster rising prices, less economy growth and more stupid, helpless decisions of polititians to get rid of the problem.
The prices are going up,because the transport of goods is going more expensive.
The politians and the EZB intent to raise interest rates,to streer against the resulting inflation. But the inflation is close related to the oilprice. Therefore it makes no sense at all to raise the interest rates as long as the oil is rising.

There are plenty of brainless political decicions i'll probable never comprehend!

PC offerings

We are planning to get a second PC pretty soon, mainly for Danny.
That's the goal,he's learning hard for.:)
Then he'll get our current system and i upgrade to something like this one here:

Cambodian hairstyles

He was proud to present this probably Korean influenced hairstyle for the picture. Many youngsters here in Asia have nowadays some sort of extraordinary hair do's like this one.:)

Sundowner at Ochheuteal beach

Notebook isn't starting anymore?

The problem is often related to the power supply, which isn't particular in Notebooks allways functioning flawless.
If you got affected by this common problem, try this method:

The English translation:
Disconnect from power supply, remove the accu.
Now press for 10 sec. the power button,reasamble-done.

This is a frequently occuring problem of notebooks, nice to know about it.:)

EU's condition

What i mentioned a while ago in this culumn, the national bankruptcy of Argentina in context to the condition of the EU,was today said by Tchechiens Minister President Vacslav Klaus as well:

Firefox 4.0 "Theme Grey & Black"

We are using this one since today.:)

Our new Firefox Addon "PDF Download"

We replaced our privious "Web to PDF" Addon through "PDF Download"
The developer of this Addon:
"Use PDF Download to do whatever you like with PDF files on the Web. Regain control and eliminate browser problems, view PDFs directly in Firefox as HTML, and use the all-new Web-to-PDF toolbar to save and share Web pages as high-quality PDF files.
Use PDF Download to do whatever you like with PDF files on the Web. Regain control and eliminate browser problems, view PDFs directly in Firefox as HTML, and use the all-new Web-to-PDF toolbar to save and share Web pages as high-quality PDF files."

The "settings" window of "PDF Download":

This "Options" window opens after clicking on a PDF document:

This was happen after one click on "Öffnen-open" in the "Options" bar:

Before its usable this way a PDF tool have to be selected in the "Settings",which the Addon uses to open directly with just one click.

A great Addon and perfect tool for homeschooling(That's why i linked it with the label Daniel,too)-we can recomment it.:)

Danny is catching up

He did two of this pages all on his own and had 20 of 20 right this morning.
Only a few days ago he was struggeling so hard with these tasks, now he needs far less than a minute for one anymore.
I allowed him to watch TV for 30 minutes and he choosed National Geographic and is watching right now how recycling works,of course in English. My son heritaged my greed for knowledge,i'm proud of him.:)
